Week 33

(8/25 - 8/31)
The week started out a little rough… Pierson and I were still getting back to normal after being so sick and we thought we were all back to normal by Monday night. However, Drew woke up in the middle of the night that night and got sick… he stayed home from work on Tuesday and was sick all day. After 24 hours we were all finally well, and continue to all be healthy… thank goodness! This weekend we got in a lot of good Pierson time and just hung out! Friday we went to my parents’ house for dinner after work. My grandpa has been staying with my parents for the past 3 weeks and on Saturday he was heading to my aunts house so we wanted to hang out before he left (except I forgot my camera… bummer)! Saturday Pierson took a 3 HOUR nap and then we headed to our friends Brent and Micheala’s to watch the OSU game… GO POKES!!! It was Pierson’s first OSU football game so of course he wore his orange! We had a really good time hanging out! Sunday Pierson took ANOTHER 3 HOUR nap! And then Drew, Pierson, and I headed to Tulsa to run some errands. Our little man is usually happy and laid back whenever we take him places… which he was at the mall and Old Navy and Babies R Us… however we decided to stop by Chipotle for some dinner (and for some crazy reason we didn’t pack a single pacifier) and Pierce-man got a little mad. I think he was worn out from all the shopping and riding in the car. Well for those of you that know him… you know his really high pitched scream… well that’s what he did. People in the restaurant were looking at us like they felt sorry for us… but luckily no one looked mad… I just felt bad. I guess we’re pretty lucky that for 7 ½ months we haven’t had to deal with that… so it’s inevitable that it was going to happen… Drew and I were kind of laughing because we didn’t know what to do since we’d already ordered. Luckily they had a patio outside that no one was sitting at so I rushed out there and Drew followed with our food and we calmed the little man down with a bottle and enjoyed the rest of our meal. And (Praise the Lord) we found a pacifier in between the seats that I licked clean :-) for the ride home! Good times! :-)
Here are some pics from the week…. (And LOTS to come next week from being home with the little man on Labor Day!)

"I love my daddy!"

"My daddy is so silly!"

"This is my orange polo shirt I wore for my first OSU football game... GO POKES!!! "

Just an update... and I'm not sure if you can tell or not... but his eyes are STILL green. I know they can still change... but I'm still holding out from the pretty green eyes :-)

Week 32

(8/18 - 8/24)

WHAT A WEEK!!! That pretty much sums it up! The week started off like normal... going to work during the day and spending the evenings playing with the little man. We were supposed to go visit Hollye and John over the weekend because Drew was playing in the golf tournament with John and Pierson and I were going to go down and hang out with Hollye and Sara. Drew left, as planned, on Thursday morning because they had their practice round Thursday afternoon. (if you have a weak stomach stop here... there... you have been warned!) When I picked Pierson up after work they told me he had just thrown up. They had been playing outside so we figured he might have just gotten hot. I was about to put him in the car when he threw up all over me. I took him back inside, cleaned him up, and he threw up again. I hurried home and got him inside before he threw up again. I called my mom (I wonder when I'm going to stop turning to my mom when I need things!?!??) and she went by the store and brought over some Pedialyte. After he threw up a few more times I called the pediatrician on call and she gave me a few suggestions of things to try to help keep things down.... nothing seemed to work. I was getting really worried and after a few more hours of him not being able to keep anything down I called the nurse on call again. She suggested taking him to the ER to get checked out because he might be getting dehyrated (he hadn't had any wet diapers, either). My dad met me at the emergency room and after getting in a room we waited, and waited, AND WAITED to see the doctor. Long story short.... we waited to see the doctor over 2 hours... Pierson ended up throwing up 19 times total... and we finally left the ER around 2:30 a.m. It was so sad to see him so miserable and in pain... I hated not being able to make him feel better!!! He seemed to feel a little better on Friday... and only threw up one more time Friday afternoon. THEN around 8:30 I started feeling sick and threw up. My mom ended up coming to pick up Pierson and I threw up ALL NIGHT long! It was awful!!! I finally quit around 6 a.m. and my parents brought Pierson back around 11 a.m. We spent the rest of Saturday laying around and taking naps every chance we got. Drew finally made it back home Sunday morning and took care of us all day. What a weekend!!!
(One more thing… I forgot to mention something last week… and since I’m going to use this blog to update Pierson’s baby book EVENTUALLY I thought I’d add this… Last week was Pierson’s first Parent/Teacher Conference… Pierson’s daycare is a child development (learning) center… the teacher’s even have lesson plans in the infant rooms. At the infant stage they have Parent/Teacher Conferences twice a year and Drew and I went to his 1st one last week. The teacher had very good things to say about Pierson. And I thought the talk was very beneficial because we got to discuss things that they were working on with Pierson, things that we’re working with him at home on, things that we’d like them to do with him, and also things that we can do with him at home that will align with what they’re working on during the day.)

Luckily we got some pics towards the beginning of the week!

Our happy little man!

Pierson loving on his daddy!

This is Pierson's shirt that he got from Gogo... isn't it Perfect!!

So happy!

And this was towards the beginning of the evening when Pierson was sick... isn't it so sad :-(

Happy 94th Birthday Granddaddy - 8/18

(8/18)

Happy 94th Birthday to my grandpa! Wow! What an amazing man he is and what an amazing life he's lived. He's been called the "energizer bunny" because he still has so much energy and is so incredibly sharp! Our family is tremendously blessed by him and he is such an inspiration to us all! We celebrated his birthday with my mom's side of the family out at my parents' house on Saturday. It was so fun to see everyone and be together to celbrate his birthday. Happy Happy Birthday Granddady!

Melissa & Matt's Wedding - 8/16

We went to Melissa and Matt's wedding on Saturday night. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was so much fun. Drew and I got to see a lot of friends we hadn't seen in a while... as well as a bunch we'd seen the weekend before. The girls, of course, took over the dance floor :-) And they even had a Photobooth that we got to dress up and take fun pictures in... it was so much fun! Congrats Melissa and Matt!!

Week 31

(8/11 - 8/17)
We recovered from the exciting weekend in Stillwater with a full week of work and then we were off to another busy busy weekend! Friday Christi came to town so we hung out with her all evening. Saturday Drew played golf with the boys and Pierson and I went to my parents' house to celebrate my grandpa's 94th birthday with a bunch of family. Drew met us out there and then that evening Drew and I headed to our friends Melissa and Matt's wedding. Pierson ended up staying and hanging out with the fam at the last minute since Christi was in town and several others that wanted to hang out with him :-) Melissa and Matt's wedding was so much fun! They looked beautiful and we had a really good time. Sunday we got up early and got the house ready for a baby shower for my friend Courtney. She's due in December and has the cutest little baby bump! The shower was a lot of fun! And it's back to work for another week to rest up for the next weekend :-) hahaha

Pierson's silly hair after his bath!

I can't quit laughing at this little guy... too cute!

We've been practicing pulling up on things and keeping his balance... he LOVES to stand!

And of course he loves to smile, too!

He's not too sure what to think about this whole "being on all 4's" thing!

He sure is growing fast! and he looks like a little boy in is baseball tee!

Ahhhh I just love this kiddo!

Pierson sure loves with his Aunt Christi is in town!

He always has sooo much fun with her! Come back and visit soon! And thank you again for Pierson's 7-Month Birthday Present! He loves his new shirts and can't wait to wear them!!!

Nick and Jill's Wedding - 8/9/2008

Week 30

(8/4 - 8/10)
What a week! So the week started off not-so-great with a sick little man. He was up off and on ALL night Sunday night with a fever. It was his first fever ever and it was so sad... he was miserable! We had called the nurse on call and she said it was probably teething after we told ehr the symptoms. We finally gave him some Tylenol around 6 in the morning Monday and he got some sleep finally. Drew stayed home from work with him on Monday and he seemed to be feeling better by the end of the day. THEN Monday evening he broke out in hives all over his little body... so we called the nurse on call AGAIN. (Now I am not one that calls with every little thing... I think this was the 3rd time we've called in the 7 months with little man) Anyway~ we ended up going to the doctor on Tuesday and he was getting over a virus that has a 24 hour fever followed by hives... it's a common summertime virus in infants and toddlers. So I stayed home with him on Tuesday just to make sure he was better. (thanks Mom and Dad for coming over for a hour each so I could run in to work for a bit to grab some things!) After we got Pierson back to feeling 100% we were off to Stillwater on Friday for Nick and Jill's wedding! Nick is one of Drew's best friends and Jill is one of my best friends so we were both in the wedding! It was such a fun weekend!!! My mom helped host the bridal luncheon on Friday morning and then after that she stayed in Stillwater the rest of the weekend to help with Pierson and watch him while Drew and I had rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and wedding stuff. It was soooo nice because we didn't have to be away from him really the whole weekend! My sister came up Saturday morning and helped my mom and then my dad came for the wedding and my mom and dad kept Pierson in their hotel room Saturday night so Drew, Christi, and I could stay at the reception and hang out with everyone. It was a perfect weekend! Thanks so much for all of your help Mimi Pops and Aunt Christi! And Congratulations to the BEAUTIFUL couple Nick and Jill!!!
Oh... and one more thing!!! So Pierson has been saying Dada for a couple of weeks now and I have been working on Mama... he said it on Saturday!!!!! I was so excited!!! He started out with just saying "Mmmmm" and then "Mmmmma" and finally he said "Mama!" I love it!!
Here are some pics from the week...
I gave Pierson his first mohawk in the bath this week... I just love this kid!!!

I am so blessed by this precious little guy!!!

He looks innocent here... but he's about to tear into these toys and make a total mess... it's so funny!

His silly hair after bathtime!

Meal time is always a fun time!

Pierson has decided he thinks it's funny to like the high chair tray when he's done eating. It's pretty funny... but makes for quite a mess when he's done :-)

Jill came over to hang out a few days before her wedding... Pierson loved seeing her!

Nick also came over while he was in town before the wedding... he was being entertained by the newspaper in Nick's hand and just loved it!

For those that know how much I twirl my hair you will get a kick out of this picture :-) Yes, Pierson was playing with his hair! Too funny! My mom took Pierson on tons of walks in his new stroller while we were in Stillwater. He LOVED it!

Thanks so much Mimi for taking such good care of me all weekend!

Pierson and his Pops at the reception!
He was fascinated with my dad's face... probably because they look so much alike!

We had such a fun weekend... but by the end of it we were all exhausted!

Week 29

(7/28 - 8/3)
Pierson has become quite the talker this week... he has been chatting up a storm and says "DaDa" all the time! It's so funny! Now we just need to learn Mama! This week wasn't too eventful... just a lot of hanging out with the fam. Drew played in a golf tournament Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and actually did really well (yeah Drew). Saturday while he played golf Pierson and I went out to my parents' house and hung out for the afternoon. Pierson always has fun with Mimi and Pops! On Sunday we went to church and then Drew and Pierson had a father/son afternoon while I ran to Tulsa to get a few things. I got a new light-weight stroller for Pierson that's easy to fold up and throw in the car. I LOVE it! On Sunday evening Pierson wasn't feeling well and I checked and he had a fever :-( It was his first fever ever and he just seemed to feel so miserable. His temp was only in the 99 degrees area, but his normal temp is low 97's. I felt so bad for him. He was up on and off all night long Sunday night. (I'll update more on this next week)...
Here are some pictures from the week...

I have a feeling these eyes aren't going to be green much longer... so I'm trying to post lots of close ups pics of these beautiful green eyes! Hopefully he'll take after his Grandpa Mike and stick with green eyes :-)

Chewing on measuring spoons while hanging out with Mimi

"I sure think my Mimi & Pops are funny"

And he's had "teething symptoms" since he was three months old and STILL no teeth! He has done the biting thing, the fussy thing, the major drool thing... I've given up thinking any of these are signs that teeth are coming. Here he is chewing on Mimi's finger.

No I did not let my child walk barefoot through walmart... this is what happens when you let your child play with the sunday paper :-)

He loves eating those prunes!
