WHAT A WEEK!!! That pretty much sums it up! The week started off like normal... going to work during the day and spending the evenings playing with the little man. We were supposed to go visit Hollye and John over the weekend because Drew was playing in the golf tournament with John and Pierson and I were going to go down and hang out with Hollye and Sara. Drew left, as planned, on Thursday morning because they had their practice round Thursday afternoon. (if you have a weak stomach stop here... there... you have been warned!) When I picked Pierson up after work they told me he had just thrown up. They had been playing outside so we figured he might have just gotten hot. I was about to put him in the car when he threw up all over me. I took him back inside, cleaned him up, and he threw up again. I hurried home and got him inside before he threw up again. I called my mom (I wonder when I'm going to stop turning to my mom when I need things!?!??) and she went by the store and brought over some Pedialyte. After he threw up a few more times I called the pediatrician on call and she gave me a few suggestions of things to try to help keep things down.... nothing seemed to work. I was getting really worried and after a few more hours of him not being able to keep anything down I called the nurse on call again. She suggested taking him to the ER to get checked out because he might be getting dehyrated (he hadn't had any wet diapers, either). My dad met me at the emergency room and after getting in a room we waited, and waited, AND WAITED to see the doctor. Long story short.... we waited to see the doctor over 2 hours... Pierson ended up throwing up 19 times total... and we finally left the ER around 2:30 a.m. It was so sad to see him so miserable and in pain... I hated not being able to make him feel better!!! He seemed to feel a little better on Friday... and only threw up one more time Friday afternoon. THEN around 8:30 I started feeling sick and threw up. My mom ended up coming to pick up Pierson and I threw up ALL NIGHT long! It was awful!!! I finally quit around 6 a.m. and my parents brought Pierson back around 11 a.m. We spent the rest of Saturday laying around and taking naps every chance we got. Drew finally made it back home Sunday morning and took care of us all day. What a weekend!!!
(One more thing… I forgot to mention something last week… and since I’m going to use this blog to update Pierson’s baby book EVENTUALLY I thought I’d add this… Last week was Pierson’s first Parent/Teacher Conference… Pierson’s daycare is a child development (learning) center… the teacher’s even have lesson plans in the infant rooms. At the infant stage they have Parent/Teacher Conferences twice a year and Drew and I went to his 1st one last week. The teacher had very good things to say about Pierson. And I thought the talk was very beneficial because we got to discuss things that they were working on with Pierson, things that we’re working with him at home on, things that we’d like them to do with him, and also things that we can do with him at home that will align with what they’re working on during the day.)
Luckily we got some pics towards the beginning of the week!
We went to Melissa and Matt's wedding on Saturday night. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was so much fun. Drew and I got to see a lot of friends we hadn't seen in a while... as well as a bunch we'd seen the weekend before. The girls, of course, took over the dance floor :-) And they even had a Photobooth that we got to dress up and take fun pictures in... it was so much fun! Congrats Melissa and Matt!!
I can't quit laughing at this little guy... too cute!
We've been practicing pulling up on things and keeping his balance... he LOVES to stand!
He sure is growing fast! and he looks like a little boy in is baseball tee!
Ahhhh I just love this kiddo!
I am so blessed by this precious little guy!!!
He looks innocent here... but he's about to tear into these toys and make a total mess... it's so funny!
Meal time is always a fun time!
Pierson has decided he thinks it's funny to like the high chair tray when he's done eating. It's pretty funny... but makes for quite a mess when he's done :-)
Jill came over to hang out a few days before her wedding... Pierson loved seeing her!
And he's had "teething symptoms" since he was three months old and STILL no teeth! He has done the biting thing, the fussy thing, the major drool thing... I've given up thinking any of these are signs that teeth are coming. Here he is chewing on Mimi's finger.
No I did not let my child walk barefoot through walmart... this is what happens when you let your child play with the sunday paper :-)
