Pierson and his baby brother!

This was the first time Pierson held his baby brother... and one of the only times!  He LOVES to kiss him and ask where he is and give him his pacifier and look at him... but every time I ask if he wants to hold him he says no :-)  Totally fine... just makes me laugh :-)  I guess I should take advantage of this because I'm sure sometime soon I'll be tell him to put him down or let go of him :-)

I just love these boys!!!

Our newest little man!

Here are some pictures from our stay at the hospital after Karsten was born... he was born Friday morning - and we headed home Saturday late afternoon.  However the in the middle of the night that night we were rethinking our decision to head home a day early :-)  But we survived!  Drew's parents kept Pierson for 1/2 the time and my parents kept him the other half.  He came home Sunday after we had a night to adjust and I swear he looked like he'd grown 2 feet over the weekend.  He seems sooo big now after seeing Karsten... it's crazy!

Pierson's first time to meet his baby brother.
This was the conversation:
Grandparents: Where is baby Karsten?
Pierson: In mommy's tummy
Me: No, he's right here!  Come see....  What do you think?
Pierson: He has lots of fingers
{everyone laughed}
Me:  Yes he does, the same as you!    Do you want to hold him?
Pierson:  No, you can hold him

Drew's parents also took Pierson to get a balloon bouquet to bring to the hospital... he was so excited to give it to me :-)

We also got Pierson a gift... we knew he's be seeing all the things his new brother was getting and we wanted him to still know he's super special to us so we got him this dump truck... it has all sorts of buttons that make it move and make noises... once he got that he didn't much care about Karsten... he loved his new present :-)

And we had a lot of wonderful people that came to visit us in the hospital and I completely forgot to take pictures of them :-(  I don't know what I was thinking... not a single one!  But we appreciated all of the visits and loved showing off our precious little man!  And here are some of the beautiful flowers we received in the hospital!

AND I have an AMAZING group of girl friends... wow!  They organized people to bring us meals every other day after we came home from the hospital!  We had so many delicious meals from wonderful friends!  It was soooo nice to not worry about the meals and focus on our precious little boys!  Thank you a million!!

Introducing Karsten Reed

Our sweet baby boy #2 arrived October 15th at 11:37a.m.
6 lbs 14 oz
19 1/2 inches
and perfect in every way... we're so in love!

Pierson's Big Boy Room

We are using Pierson's baby room for Karsten and we turned the guest bedroom into Pierson's new room.  We had my grandma's old furniture in there, and while I loved the furniture it wasn't sturdy enough for a 2 year old boy :-)  Since we'll no longer have a guest bedroom we decided we didn't want a twin bed... and for some reason we thought a queen size bed was a good idea.  After seeing how tiny he looked in it we started to 2nd guess ourselves... but he absolutely LOVES it so it's just perfect!  We kept the door shut to the room the entire time we were decorating the room so it would be a total surprise for Pierson... I was worried about what he'd think about having to give up his room to Karsten and move to a new room so I wanted to make a big deal of it.  We got the room totally decorated and ready to go and then did a big "reveal" to Pierson... he was so excited!  I was in the room with a video camera and Drew went and got him and brought him in... it was really cute :-)

Well here it is...

We did a sports theme... the sheets are baseball... and there's every other sport all around the room, too.

Drew made (and painted) the big P before Pierson was born and we never ended up haging it in his baby room... but it's perfect in his new room!

He just loves his new room and bed... and now mommy and daddy can fit in his bed to ream him his books at night and he just loves that :-)

Nesting!

Towards the end of my pregnancy I went through some major nesting.  Aside from the normal cleaning, organizing, throwing things out, etc... I went on an organization kick and drug Drew along with my crazy ideas :-)  He's such a good husband and went along with everything.  Here are some of the things we did around the house recently...

Converted the office to a playroom
Along with that came getting ride of the desk and such in the office and buying this big wall system to organize all the toys... and just figuring out a place for all his toys.

Most of Pierson's toys are now in the playroom... including moving his kitchen that my sister bought for him into the playroom.

Built a new closet
There is a landing upstairs between the two boys' rooms that we had this buffet table and rocking chair in.  Before we had boys in both rooms we used the closets to store some of our stuff.  I was going crazy trying to find a place for everything and we decided to have a big closet built... it's awesome!!!
 This was before...

Being built...

Pierson playing on the shelves in the new closet...

The shelves are spaced apart to fit rubber maid storage containers... we're going to fill this thing!

All done!  With doors and trim to match the rest of the house!

A small peak at the inside... we bought TONS of rubber maid containers... they now hold everything from Pierson's clothes

Back door Entry Cabinet
We used to just have a glass table by the door to the garage and it ended up being a "junk" table that we just threw things on when we came in house.  We ordered this wall system that has 4 big "cubbies" (one for each of us), slots for mail, places for magazines, a charging station to charge cell phones and anything else, an extra shelf and a big drawer. This way we can throw all of our stuff in here on the way in the door and not clutter the kitchen counter or any place else with our junk :-)

We also replaced a few paintings around the house, too...
This is now in our dining room

And this is now in our living room

Random September/October pics

Just some random pics of our 1st born... before he's no longer an only child!

 Playing with his daddy!

We had a fun mommy and Pierson day before his little brother arrived... he got to ride a few of these at the mall :-)

The orange dinosaur on the table in this picture next to Pierson... it plays music and Pierson LOVES to dance to it... he also must be wearing his sun glasses in order to dance... it's hilarious!!!

Pierson and Mason playing on the piano...  Courtney, Josh, and Mason were in town one weekend and we went to Courtney's parents' house to watch some football... it was so fun to see them and watch the little boys play!

Drew's first 5k
Drew decided to run his first 5k so he and a few people at work trained together and ran their first 5k the end of September.  Drew ran the whole thing and did a GREAT job!  Pierson and I were there to cheer him on and Pierson was so excited to see his daddy run!  Great job Drew!  (now hopefully he'll be my running partner from time to time when I get back in shape!)
