The P Family: Week 20

(5/26/08 - 6/1/08)

Finally an update...

So it was a short work week because we were off Monday for Memorial Day and then I took a day off of work on Friday to hang out with Pierson... but it still seemed like long week. I guess we just had a lot going on.

Drew's birthday was on Thursday... I woke up extra early and went and got him sausage rolls and some donuts to take to work for his birthday (I didn't MAKE a nice breakfast because I DON'T COOK). But I did make the extra effort of getting up super early and going and getting them so hopefully that counts for something :-) I met Drew, Jennifer, Shane, Christina and their kids for lunch for his birthday. Then that afternoon Drew and I took Pierson to the doctor for his 4 1/2 month appointment. He, of course, was 95% for height and weight and the doctor said he checked out perfectly. He got 1 liquid vaccination and 3 shots... poor little man :-( I let Drew stay with him for the shots and I went to the window and paid... I couldn't stand to watch him be in pain. He actually did really well though... he hollered when the nurse poked him each time but stopped crying as soon as she was done. He's a trooper! That night we took Pierson to Drew's parent's house and they watched him while Drew and I went to Tulsa to get his birthday present (he wanted some new sun glasses), get a few things for Pierson, and then we went to dinner at PF Changs. That was our first "date" - just the two of us - since Pierson has been born. We've been out to dinner... but Pierson has always come with us. So it was fun to sit and chat over a nice dinner... and Pierson did great with Drew's Parents! (Thanks GoGo and Grandpa Mike!)

Friday night my sister came back to town and Drew, Pierson, and I went to dinner with my dad, sister, and the Maddux's. Sarah was in town with Van and they came too! Van is right at 1 year older than Pierson so it was fun to see what we have to look forward to in just 1 year :-)

Saturday Drew headed to a Bachelor party in Tulsa and stayed the night there so Pierson and I went out to my parents all day. We celebrated my mom's birthday and my dad got her a Nintendo Wii so we played that all afternoon. It was so fun! Saturday night since Drew was gone Christi came back and stayed the night with me and Pierson. She even got up with him and changed him super early in the morning! It was fun to have her stay the night! I was sad Sunday when I had to take her back to the airport... but we did do a little shopping before we dropped her off :-) (thanks Christi for coming 2 weekends in a row!!!!)
