Monday started out a little rough for Pierce-man. He was teething and was very fussy… now I’m not one to blame any fussiness on teething… but he ran a low grade fever, got diaper rash (which he NEVER gets and my mom said my sister and I got when we were teething), and I can now officially SEE a tooth… it’s still below the surface… but it’s just to the right of center on the bottom and I can see it. I got him some Tylenol after I picked him up and he seemed to feel better and then that night we went back to Drew’s parents’ house. Drew, Pierson, and Grandpa Mike did some work and watched Monday Night Football while GoGo and I made turquoise napkin rings for a fundraiser that she was in charge of the table decorations for. Friday evening we went to the Employ Ability Dinner/Auction. Both of our usual babysitters (my parents and Drew’s parents) were also there, so my Aunt Kay babysat P-man. (thanks so very much KK for watching Pierson… he had so much fun!) Saturday morning we got up early and headed to Lake Eufala to visit our friends Jon and Mary. They live on the lake and they have redone their entire house and it’s amazing!!! They also have a boat and jetski… and while we didn’t go out on the water… Mary, Jon, Sara, and Tyler did and it was quite entertaining to watch from the doc! In the afternoon we got out the game Cranium and played boys vs. girls… the boys won… but we had lots of fun anyway :-) The rest of the time we spent reminiscing about old times and it was just so much fun! We left after Pierson had his last bottle and he slept the whole way home… even though we were driving through the reminents of hurricane Ike and the wind/rain was insanely crazy! Saturday was also Pierson’s 8 month birthday… SO HARD TO BELIEVE!!! And of course Pierson got another monthly birthday present from his Aunt Christi! She is such an amazing sister/aunt! She has sent Pierson a birthday present every month since he was born and they’re always such cute gifts. This month it was some navy/white striped overalls and a long sleeved red onesie to go underneath. He is going to look so cute when he wears it this fall!!! (Thanks Aunt Christi!!!!) Sunday was my dad’s birthday so we went out to my parents house for dinner with my family and Drew’s family. It was a lot of fun… and Pierson even had his first experience swinging on the amazing swingset my dad made! (see pics below)
Hanging out on the doc at Mary and Jon's
Pierson thought Jon was so much fun... that water bottle was quite entertaining!
Sara & Tyler and Mary and Jon on the jet skis!
This is the ginormous swingset that Pops made... he put an infant swing on it and Pierson LOVED it!!!
Pierson's first time in the swing!
And he thought it was extra fun when Pops joined in on the swinging!
So did I... I even took Pierson for a quick ride on the big swing!
He got to see both grandpa's that evening... Drew's parents came out and celebrated my dad's birthday, too!
Pierson loves to "walk" while holding people's hands... here he was showing off and walking around the kitchen!
And he played on the floor with grandpa Mike just before his bedtime... he was wearing his new big boy pajamas.
