The P Family: Laguna Beach trip for a Wedding

On Thursday, April 16th Drew and I flew to Laguna Beach, California for the wedding of our good friend Chad. We went to high school with Chad and have remained great friends ever since... he was a groomsman in our wedding and Drew was a groomsmen in his wedding. Our group of high school friends has actually remained really close and there were 14 of us that were able to make the trip out to California for the wedding! We had such a great time! Our flight left really early Thursday morning so on Wednesday evening we took Pierson to Drew's parents' house to stay the night. Pierson stayed with them Wednesday and Thursday nights and then stayed with my parent's Friday and Saturday nights until we got home Sunday. It was the first time we'd left Pierson with someone else for more than 1 night... but both of our parents were super great about sending several pictures a day of the little man each day we were gone. They made being gone a little easier to handle... that and knowing he was having a wonderful time hanging out with all of his amazing grandparents!

Thursday evening was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal dinner was in the restaurant of a beautiful hotel in Laguna that overlooked the ocean! The wedding was on Friday afternoon. Friday morning a few of us girls got up and ran about 6 miles around Laguna and then went to the beach to soak up some sun! After some time on the beach we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. The wedding was at a gorgeous Catholic church and the bride, Melissa, looked absolutely stunning! The reception was a BLAST and we had a great time dancing all evening long! Saturday all of us girls got up and walked around Laguna and visited a bunch of the neat shops in the downtown area. We went to the beach for a while, went to lunch, and just hung out. Saturday evening our whole group went to a sushi restaurant for dinner and then out for a while. Drew and I headed home early Sunday and I was sooooo anxious to see my sweet little man when we got home. He wasn't quite sure what to think when we first got there... but by the time we were in the car on the way home he was saying "Mama" the ENTIRE way home... then I couldn't even go to the next room without him for the rest of the day! I had to hold him all evening... but I sure didn't mind one bit!!
