The P Family: Week 5

What an exciting week this was :-) On Monday Pierson and I went to lunch with my friend Penny... this was our first outing without Drew (aside from my doctor's appointment and driving through to drop off mail at the post office) so I timed his feeding as best as I could and packed the diaper bag and made out for the adventure. Pierson was awake for part of lunch and then fell sound asleep in his carrier and Penny and I had a great lunch. When we were done I should have headed home and not pushed my luck that he would remain sound asleep... but it was 2 days before Valentine's day and I needed to get a card for Drew... so we headed to the mall. I did the fastest card shopping I've ever done I think and he was still sound asleep so once more I pushed my luck and went next door to Baby Gap (I mean I have this new precious baby and I haven't even been in there yet!). Well as we're going to check out he wakes up and started screaming... So I checked out fast and headed out to my car. Well there was no way I could let the little guy starve all the way home, so I got in the car and drove to a less crouded part of the mall parking lot, hopped in the backseat, and fed him. After an hour of him eating he was done... but had used the restroom... a lot... and it leaked out onto his clothes (sorry... I know it's gross... but in the 5 short weeks that he's been here I've grown accustomed to things like this) :-) So I am now in a small delema... I can't drive home and let him sit in that the whole way (1. because it's gross and 2. because it would get all over his car seat). I didn't want to take him back into the mall to change him... and I couldn't open the hatch of my Pilot and change him back there because it was 30-something degrees out. So after calling Drew for support :-) hahaha I put Pierson in the front passenger seat while I sat in the drivers seat and changed him... aside from him sliding into the crease of the seat... I think I did a pretty good job :-) So he had been fed, changed, and had a new outfit on... so ONCE MORE I pushed my luck and decided that since we were out we'd run across the street to Albertson's and get a couple things I was needing. Well as lack-of-luck would have it... I grab my 3 or so items and head to the checkout just as he decided to wake back up and start screaming. I felt like everyone in the store was glaring at me so I did the self checkout as fast as I could and headed home. He screamed most of the way home (only about a 5 minute drive) and then fell asleep about a mile from the house. I guess the outing was too much for him... and I decided it was a little much for me so we won't be venturing out for that long for a LONG time... unless we're with Drew :-)

The next day was Pierson's 1 month birthday... I can't believe how fast time is flying by! Pierson's aunt Christi even sent him his first birthday card and included "birthday money!" He's so lucky to have such a fun aunt! I can already tell that he's just going to love both of his aunts so much!!!

Valentine's Day was Wednesday! Valentine's day is extra special for Drew and I because 5 years ago he proposed to me on Valentine's day! (Again... can't believe it's gone by so fast!) So Drew brought in gifts before he left for work in the morning... he got me Photoshop!!! I am really getting into taking pictures and so Photoshop is the next step... I can't wait to really learn it! He also got me a gift from Pierson and also a gift for Pierson! And that evening he cooked us a really nice dinner! Thanks honey... you're the BEST husband in the world! And not to mention one amazing dad to our little guy!

And Saturday our friends Courtney and Josh came over and we got Mexican take out... it was lots of fun! Here's a picture of Courtney playing with Pierson... He had so much fun playing this little down down down up game with her! :-)
