Week 6

This was my first week back to Bible Study on Wednesday night... it was so fun to see all the girls again and introduce them to Pierson. There were two of us due within a week of eachother in our Bible Study and all the other girls planned a little surprise shower for us the week that Pierson was born (who knew he was going to come 2 1/2 weeks early!). So I hadn't seen the girls since before Christmas break! Well during the whole "lesson" part he slept prefectly in his carrier (aside from all the grunting and sighing that he did that kept cracking us up) :-) Afterwards the girls passed him around and it was so fun to visit with some of the other "moms" and get pointers and advice and assurance that some of the things Pierson does are "completely normal." I had missed going and can't wait to go next week!

Sleeping peacefully in his carseat!

My sister, Pierson's aunt Christi, came up from Dallas again this weekend to visit Pierson... she hadn't seen him since his first week! Friday night Drew, Pierson, and I went to dinner at Hillcrest with all 4 of Pierson's Grandparents and both of his aunts! It was Pierson's first dinner outing and he was such a trooper! He was totally content being passed around the entire dinner. He did so good! Here are some pictures of the evening (and Yes, he is in two different outfits... had an accident when we changed him) :-)

And looking at his Gogo!

And here he is with Aunt Megan

Saturday Christi was still in town so we took Pierson out to my parents house... it was his first trip out there! My parents and Drew's dad haven't yet come up with what they want to be "called" by Pierson so we're just calling them Grandma and Grandpa until they decide. Drew's mom, on the other hand, has her name ready to go for Pierson to start saying :-) She is going to be Gogo! It's perfect!

Pierson fell asleep on Grandpa Raymond... he was OUT!

Since Pierson was 6 weeks old on Sunday we decided to try to give him his first bottle. Now I've heard so many stories about how breastfed babies DO NOT like bottles the first time... and some never like them. Well we decided we better start trying to give him a bottle a day... 1. So he'll get used to the bottle before I go back to work and he has to have them during the day 2. So Drew can feed him sometimes, too and 3. So I can go run an errand or be away from him and not have to worry about him getting hungry while I'm gone. Well~ so Drew gave him his first bottle on Sunday night... he didn't scream... but the first 10 minutes or so he just laid there with the bottle in his mouth staring at Drew. I amagine his thoughts were something along the line of "What are YOU doing feeding me... YOU aren't the one that normally feeds me!" Then all of a sudden he started sucking and took the bottle down in a jiffy! He did so good! And didn't seem to mind it one bit! It was so fun to watch Drew feed him, too!

And this is just a cute picture of Pierson chillin' on the couch!
