This week started out GREAT... I didn't go back to work until Tuesday so Pierson and I spent the day together on Monday just playing and having fun together. We also went and visited MiMi (my mom) at work and introduced her co-workers to Mr. Pierson. We had a wonderful day together and I just couldn't seem to hold him enough!!
I love this picture of him smiling!
And what a cute little man!
Look how cute these pants are... I just love them! He looked precious in them!!!Well on Tuesday I started back at work. After almost 11 1/2 weeks of spending every single day with my little man I had to go back to work. It was a pretty rough day :-( I guess the best way to explain it would be... Well for 9 months I was the SOLE caregiver of my little man... I mean from everything that I ate, and drank, to the position I slept each night, etc... I was thinking about him and how each and every thing would affect him. I thought about him a million times a day and tried to be the best mom to him while he was in my tummy. Then came January 13th when he entered this amazing world and I was able to share this responsibility with Drew. Even though I was the person that provided his "food" Drew took amazing care of us both (I mean last weekend when Drew was out of town I think I cut up my food at dinner for one of the first times since Pierson was born... Drew not only cooks... he also cuts up my food so I can eat while feeding Mr. Pierson!). Drew and I did our best as new parents to provide Pierson with the love and care and safety and everything else our little guy deserved. We love spending time with him and playing with him and watching him learn and grow! And then came Tuesday... and while he's at a great place with great teachers... I had to turn over this responsiblity and care of my precious little guy to a complete stranger. I did pretty good until we got out to the car... then came the waterworks. And I drove to work and parked my car and then I just sat in my parking spot for a while... I couldn't quite get out of the car right away. But my sister called and I talked to her for a few... and something about talking to her always makes me feel better... and I walked into work. I walked into work with my 14 picture frames of my little man :-) Yes, 14!
I work with an amazing group of people that I really enjoy! They welcomed me back with a food day and celebrated my return! They were all very supportive and understanding of how hard it was for me and my boss even let me leave early all week. I'm very fortunate to have a great group of people to work with!!!! And here are some other things that made the transition a little easier...
My sister sent me this digital picture frame as a "going back to work" present. Knowing it would be tough to leave my little man she thought I could put lots of his pictures on here and look at him all day... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! I put TONS of pictures on the memory stick and I think I stare at little Pierson's pictures 1/2 the day :-) Thansk so much Christi!!!!!!!!
My friend Jill sent these flowers to let me know she was thinking of me this week... they're beautiful! Thanks Jill!!!!!!
And GoGo and Grandpa Mike (Drew's parents) sent me these flowers to let me know THEY were thinking of me! I love Gerber Daisies! Thanks so much!!!!
In addition to all of this I am so thankful for all of the phone calls and text messages and thoughts and prayers!!! You all are amazing!!

Pierson and I on my frist day back to work... I managed a smile so we could get a cute pic :-)
I think this picture is a pretty good summary of our first day away from eachother :-)
Well~ moving on :-) Some good things that happened this week... Pierson slept through the night 5 nights in a row!!! From last Friday night to Tuesday night! I had to even wake him up on Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning! It was awesome! Wednesday night and Thursday night he woke up some... but I'm guessing it had to do with the new schedule... hopefully he'll get used to this schedule in the next week or two. Friday night he was so worn out from the week that he ate around 7:15 and then went 12 HOURS until he ate again... and he slept straight for 10 of those hours!!! He's such a good little sleeper sometimes! Now if he can just repeat that on a weeknight :-) hahaha
Saturday morning I helped at the Zellers Family Memorial 5K run and then we spent the rest of the day just hanging out. Saturday night our friends Courtney and Josh came over for dinner! And Sunday Drew mowed and we spent the rest of the day just playing with Pierce-man!
Pierson with his turtle hooded towel on... he's really starting to like his baths!
And after the long week... Pierson did quite a bit of this :-)

But we also did a lot of this, too! It's getting so much fun to watch him play... you can really tell he's learning so much!!

Hey Megan! Pierson is so cute!!! I have been thinking about you all and understand the feelings that you have going back to work. It is so hard to let your precious baby go. I still haven't done it, but she will be going two days a week starting in August. It is nice to go to work and get the adult interaction though. Enjoy it and also enjoy your time with Pierson. It goes by so quickly! Glad to hear he is starting to sleep through the night. That is great!
I check in on him at Daycare everyday for you. :) He's usuallly a happy boy, so no worries! :) I am jealous that he sleeps so well. Cole is nowhere near the thru the night phase. :( Soon hopefully!
